AUGUST 12, 2018 — It’s the second month in a row that the price of air travel has risen.
That’s the result of a dramatic surge in demand in the African country as Zimbabwean businesses and consumers seek to escape the severe shortages that plagued the country during the 2014 famine.
Air travel is a key part of the economy, as Zimbabweans flock to cities to escape a worsening food crisis.
The country has experienced more than three years of severe food shortages that have pushed millions to seek shelter in makeshift camps and to travel by bus and motorbike.
Zimbabwe’s Tourism Ministry has estimated that the cost of air tickets to and from the country has risen by 5 percent, which is the largest increase in almost four years.
Airline sales have also risen sharply, rising by nearly half a million percent from last year to reach $1.5 billion, according to the Ministry.
Airfares are set to continue to rise, with the cost for a round-trip ticket in Zimbabwean dollars rising by 4 percent to $1,600, from $700.
The Ministry has warned that the food crisis is making travel even more expensive.
Zimbabweans are finding it increasingly difficult to afford travel because of the shortages, which have forced thousands of businesses to close or close down, according the Ministry of Tourism.
The crisis also has prompted a rise in the number of people taking to Airbnb.
Airbnb has grown rapidly in recent months, with many people turning to it to escape food shortages.
A recent study by Oxford University, however, found that the number sharing an Airbnb was not associated with an increase in people’s travel costs.
Airbnb hosts, many of whom are African-Americans, face the same challenges as other travelers, said Matt Rushing, an Airbnb executive.
Airbnb is a service where hosts and guests can rent out rooms for a predetermined amount of time, and they can choose to either charge a flat fee or a percentage of the rental price.
The company, which offers hundreds of thousands of listings in over 100 countries, does not track how many people are using its platform.
But Rushing said the growth in demand is a sign of how difficult it is for hosts and hosts to survive in a country where nearly 70 percent of the population lives below the poverty line.
“We are seeing an influx of people, especially in rural areas, because of this situation,” he said.
“It’s a good thing because the economic situation is bad.”
Airbnb hosts have complained that many hosts are refusing to let them use their services because of food shortages and lack of funds.
Rushing told ABC News that hosts often complain to Airbnb’s team that they don’t have enough cash to pay their bills, and the hosts are often forced to close their business.
The host also says that they can’t afford to take on additional staff or to make a profit.
“You’re being treated as if you’re not worth anything by these people,” he added.
Rushing said Airbnb has stepped up its efforts to increase its business in the country and is working with Zimbabwe to increase the number and diversity of hosts it offers.
Airbnb currently offers about 1,200 hosts in the rural areas of the country.
It plans to expand that number to around 3,000 hosts in 2018.
Airbnb will also begin allowing Zimbabweans to book a room for the duration of the crisis, which would allow hosts to remain in the host’s home during the crisis.
Airbnb recently expanded the service in Zimbabwe, allowing guests to book their room for a specified amount of the duration and set a specific time for their stay.
The service also allows hosts to reserve rooms for guests who have been staying for more than two days and who are unable to find a host willing to take them.
“This is a great opportunity for hosts to create more space for their guests, and for hosts who are still unable to meet demand,” Rushing wrote in a statement to ABC News.
“This is also an opportunity to help our guests in Zimbabwe.”
For now, Airbnb has been able to maintain its presence in Zimbabwe as hosts struggle to find new places to host.
Airbnb said it is working to expand its presence to include other African countries and the United States, as well as in Latin America and Asia.
The company has also recently made efforts to promote itself in other countries.
Airbnb was the first company to be featured in a viral video that has gone viral and has been viewed nearly 50 million times.
In addition to highlighting its African presence, the video also features the company promoting itself to Chinese tourists and African businesspeople.
Airbnb also recently started using technology to help people in the developing world connect with hosts and other people they might meet.
The business is a success for Airbnb in Zimbabwe.
In 2017, the company said it helped more than 4,300 people book a place to stay for less than $1 per night.
The number of hosts and rooms it is providing is expected to increase as more people use the service.
